Richmond County records are divided among these official channels:

- Indicted felony files: contact Richmond Supreme Court, Criminal Term, 26 Central Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10301, at 718-675-8700
- Personal rap sheets: follow the fingerprint Record Review instructions from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services
- Police reports: use NYPD Criminal Records Unit channels at One Police Plaza, telephone 718-610-8457, or the arresting agency's own records process
- City custody records: use NYC Department of Correction's locator or call 311; its official pages control visiting instructions and deposit channels; use DOCCS for state prison custody
- Record sealing: file with the Richmond court that entered the conviction and serve the Richmond County District Attorney's office when required
The main local court counter is at Richmond County Supreme Court and NYC Criminal Court, 26 Central Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10301. Routine clerk offices operate Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding holidays. Call the proper clerk before traveling, especially for an archived file.
